EDO is a contemporary Japanese restaurant and bar where authenticity blends with atmosphere. It draws its energy from Tokyo’s Izakayas where the end of the day meant the start of something lively and delicious. At EDO, food arrives in waves, each plate meant to complement the one before it.

The restaurant offers a sensory experience that is fast-paced, flavour-forward, and always moving. It’s a place where culinary precision intertwines with the culture of conversation, and where both the food and the mood evolve as the evening unfolds

EDO Experience

Cuisine

The menu at EDO is authentic Japanese but not in the way most know it. It highlights authentic dishes that rarely make it onto local menus, offering a deeper, more textural take on Japanese cuisine. Expect yaki nasu (charred eggplant with miso), tsukemono (seasonal pickles), kinoko miso soup, sweet potato noodles, or a subtle Japanese curry. Skewers from the robata are blistered to perfection, ramen arrives light but layered, and set meals honour the clean elegance of a midday meal done right.

Origin

The soul of EDO lies in its name. It is both a tribute and a transformation of the Edo period’s spirit, when Tokyo first became a city of light, sound, and social dining. The Izakaya movement that bloomed then was more than a trend. It was a culture. A way of coming together. EDO brings that cultural memory into the now. Popular for its authentic Japanese food and warm service, EDO has always been one of city’s most loved restaurants. The new concept promises to bring Japan’s popular izakaya dining culture to Bengaluru with small plates served in a relaxed seating.

Ambience

The space moves just like the menu. From stone counters and ceramic textures to live kitchens and eye-level interactions, the design invites proximity. At night, the tempo shifts. Music becomes the essence of EDO experience along with the food. Guests are free to step away, let the music carry them for a moment, and then return to their seats as another round of small plates arrive. The lighting is warm but vibrant, glowing on surfaces, with Japanese pop art and bright hues on the walls. From the furniture to the vibrant artwork and décor, every detail creates an engaging atmosphere. The use of colour is both playful and sophisticated, making the space feel modern yet luxurious. The extended outdoor seating is joyful addition to revel in the city’s much acclaimed beautiful weather.
