Jabalapur is an important city in the state of Madhya Pradesh, situated in central India. Historically, this was a center of the Kalachuri and Gond dynasties.  The city developed a unified culture during the intermittent Mughal and Maratha rule. Jabalpur lies just north of the Narmada River in a rocky basin surrounded by low hills that are dotted with lakes and temples, famously known for marble rocks.
